Board Approves Transition to Quarterly Regular Meetings

At its June 11, 2026 Regular Board Meeting, the Murphys Sanitary District Board of Directors approved a resolution amending the District's regular meeting schedule from monthly to quarterly meetings.

The Board determined that quarterly meetings will continue to provide adequate oversight of District operations while reducing costs associated with Board member stipends, meeting preparation, agenda posting, publication requirements, and other administrative expenses. The change reflects the District's current operational needs and commitment to operating efficiently while maintaining transparency and public access.

The District's final regular monthly Board meeting will be held on July 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

Beginning thereafter, regular Board meetings will be held quarterly on the second Thursday of the scheduled month at 10:00 a.m at the District Office located at 15 Ernest Street, Suite A in Murphys, CA.

 The upcoming meeting schedule is as follows:

• September 10, 2026
• December 10, 2026
• March 11, 2027
• June 10, 2027

The Board may continue to hold Special Meetings as necessary to address District business that arises between regularly scheduled quarterly meetings.

 Board members receive a $100 stipend per regular board meeting. A member may elect to waive any or all payments. 

The primary responsibilities of the Board shall be the formulation and evaluation of District policy as well as legal and fiduciary oversite of the district and its mission.

·         Cooperate with other districts and agencies to best serve our community

·         Obtain and implement best practices

·         Set a standard of excellence for public agencies

Public Access to Ethics and Fiscal Training Records

Pursuant  to California Government Code requirements, members of the public may request copies of ethics training (AB1234) and fiscal training records maintained by the District. Requests may be submitted by email to amy@murphyssd.org or please call 209-728-3094.  Request will be processes in accordance with the California Public Records Act. 

*Officials serving as of January 1, 2026 are not required to complete their first fiscal training until January 1, 2028, so some records may not yet be available.*
